Safe in his mother's arms at last: An ecstatic Mrs. Genevieve Keenan holds her new son George Cruz Ascom, delivered to her personally by Father Edward O. Riley after a 12 day voyage from Japan on the USS General Hugh Gaffey. Father Riley stands by and prepares to say goodbye to the child he has championed for the past 4 months.
