1st Marines Lead Dimes Drive List

SEOUL, Mar. 16 (INS)- The 1953 March of Dimes will benefit by $450,330 from the contributions of the American soldiers in Korea.

In an Eighth Army announcement of the total yesterday Lt. Gen Maxwell D. Taylor called the response "truly outstanding."

The Eighth Army commander said it showed the "nobility and the generosity of the American soldier, and his sympathy for the unnecessary suffering of all persons-especially our children-who are stricken by polio."

Top unit contribution was made by the 1st Marine Division, which led the drive with $72,692. The 40th Division, which contributed $67,163, and the 45th Division, $54,887, were runners-up.

On a corps basis, X Corps came out ahead with contributions totaling $141,906.
